WHAT'S ONE STORY OR IMPORTANT ASPECT YOU ALWAYS TELL PEOPLE ABOUT YOUR TIME ABROAD?
One important aspect I always tell people about my time abroad is to live in the moment and enjoy your host city because sometimes you can get caught up in the attraction of traveling every weekend because you tell yourself you only study abroad once therefore, you give yourself the authority to travel however, people forget to appreciate the actual city and country you are actually living and I would recommend prospective students to plan to stay a couple of weekends close to home, allowing yourself to fully appreciate everything your host city has to offer.
HOW DID YOU ENGAGE WITH THE LOCAL COMMUNITY WHILE ABROAD?
I engaged with my local community while abroad by staying engaged with current events the local community was interested in including a very popular music festival called Sanremo where the entire country watches it together on the TV because it is a festival and contest that decides who will be representing Italy at EuroVision. I was even able to bring it up during my classes and talk more about it with my professors which was extremely interesting hearing the perspectives of certain artists from a more local perspective.
